Lochan Spling is a beautiful body of water just 5kms (3 miles) from Dreamcatcher Cabins. Its just an hour walk, and in warmer climes is a perfect spot for a swim!

The Loch Lomond National Park has the highest density of fresh water lochs in Scotland, making it a great place to walk, cycle, or wild swim.

Around Aberfoyle, there is excellent parking and miles to roam. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, the town plenty of great places to eat.

How to reach Lochan Spling from the cabins

If you’re setting off from the cabins, it’s a flat, easy walk. Just head along the cycle track, through Aberfoyle, up Duchray road, swing a right and you’re there.

We highly recommend this spot. It is tranquil, scenic and hidden in nature.

And, if you don’t have anywhere to be, you can keep going past Lochan Spling, over the hill, and you’ll reach Loch Ard, another much bigger Loch with views of Ben Lomond
