Life is settling into a new rhythm …

We are settling into the pattern of having an extra cabin. Hedgehog has been up and running for a couple of weeks now and we have had fantastic reviews. The guests that have stayed have loved it. As you know it took a bit of sweat and tears to build. No blood this time – Will managed to keep all his fingers intact. We had great fun too. Many, many laughs as always.

What I had not really realised was that a fifth cabin is like many describe when they have their third child. It does not just feel like one more. For the last 2 weeks we have been struggling to keep up with everything. This morning I was running again to do some “emergency ironing”.

However, as with everything, I see light at the end of the tunnel. New systems are in place (I love a system) and they are starting to bed in, Ross and I have a new routine for the daily running of the cabins and we are gradually feeling as if we are settling into the new normal.

I cannot wait for the campervan to arrive – but I am just a little scared too. That will be another totally new thing to negotiate. It is going to be so beautiful and I swing from a state of ridiculous excitement to being terrified of how we will manage with effectively a 6th cabin! For now, I am keeping my head firmly in the sand. Everyone must feel like this as their business expands a little – she said hopefully.

I will keep you posted! x
