Hesslehead Wildlife Sanctuary
Today we had a trip today to Hesslehead Wildlife Sanctuary to collect some hedgehogs. We went for 4, collected 5 and before I knew what was what, we were leaving with 7 pheasants too that were in need of a home. Brian was delighted as he has always loved pheasants. The sanctuary were sorry to see them go. They were brought in as a clutch of eggs, rescued by firemen during a grass fire. The female sat on the eggs as long as she could but was driven off by the flames. Hesslehead put them in their incubator and reared them.
By the time we got home it was dark so they are all in the empty hen house awaiting release in the morning! Watch this space!
