Another Successful Changeover Friday
As I’ve mentioned in blog posts before, Friday’s are a busy day at Dreamcatcher Cabins. There’s always lots to do in preparation for our weekend guests.
Emily and Claire were on changeovers, and did a great job as always, making sure the cabins were spotless. Although cleaning takes a little longer with the new COVID protocols, the girls were done by 2pm.
Dad was fixing a broken door handle today as well. I’ve never seen a door handle snap off, but there’s a first time for everything. We must have had the Incredible Hulk staying. I hope he took some time to unwind.
Ryan was building a new path through the woods to make it quicker and easier for the girls to get to the cabins while cleaning. He’s done a phenomenal job as I’m sure you would agree (photo below).
Finally, at 2pm, it’s my job (Ross) to do the sweeps before everyone arrives. The gas bottles were full, the kindling was replenished, and the cabins were flawless. A quick sprint at 2:57pm to put a welcome sheet in Badger, and we were ready to go.
Thanks to the Dream Team for doing such a great job as always. The operation runs so smoothly, thanks to our competent staff.
The scene is now set for our cabiners to have a relaxing weekend to disconnect with the world, and reconnect with each other.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend wherever you are, and make sure to take some time to yourself. Have a bath, go for a walk, or watch an interesting documentary. I can highly recommend David Attenbourough’s “A Life on our Planet” on Netflix if you’re looking for ideas.
Stay safe and have fun.
Ross
