During the summer a visitor reported seeing a seal in the river beside us (Forth) just along from the cabins. I have to say we were a little skeptical about this sighting as it is a long way from the mouth of the river. However a few weeks later a friend said she had also seen a seal in the river in the same spot.

For many evenings Brian and I walked the river hoping to spot the seal to no avail.

A couple of days ago Ryan (our fishing guide should you wish to fish while you are here) was walking along the river and spotted the elusive seal lounging in the river waiting for any passing salmon! He obviously has not heard that any salmon caught must be returned unharmed to the river!
